“Bulkies” meet in Shanghai

166 exhibitors from China and abroad
New on-site conference

Over the past eleven years, the International Powder & Bulk Solids Processing Conference & Exhibition (IPB) has become the most important international platform for the powder and bulk sector in China. This year, from October 15 to 17, 2013 at the Shanghai International Exhibition Center, 166 exhibitors showcase the latest technologies for processing powder, granules, and bulk solids. The products on display include basic mechanical processing as well as nano particle technologies, measurement and control, and many more. For the first time, the UK-China International Particle Technology Forum will be held on site alongside the exhibition.

"The list of this year's exhibitors proves that last year's decision to add the 'processing' component as one of the show's themes was correct," says Evian Gu, IPB Project Manager at NürnbergMesse China. "IPB has become the most international 'one-stop-shop' annual trade show in the powder and bulk industry in China."

The exhibitors represent ten countries this year and almost every fifth company is international. The leading exhibiting nations after China are Germany, Japan, and the U.S. Nowhere else in China can process engineers find such a broad overview of products for size reduction, mixing, conveying, and dosing of powders and bulk solids. Leading international companies like Hosokawa, NEUMAN & ESSER, and Malvern – and local Chinese brands including the MiYou Group – participate in IPB.

Last year's event attracted over 6,500 trade visitors, including chemical and plant engineers, food manufacturers, and pharmaceutical process engineers as well as manufacturers of wood, paper, and mineral products.

New on-site conference
To keep an eye on future developments and to support the global knowledge exchange in the powder and bulk sector, IPB is traditionally accompanied by a comprehensive conference program. In 2013, it is rounded out by the UK-China International Particle Technology Forum. The conference is held every two years, either in the UK or China, and gives participants the opportunity to discuss recent advances and identify future research directions related to particle science and technology. The attendees include engineers and scientists who are also key buyers at IPB. Among the speakers are world-famous experts like Prof. Dr. Jin Y. Ooi from the University of Edinburgh, UK, with his latest results on "DEM modeling of cohesive and cementitious materials," as well as Prof. Dr. Chunzhong Li from the East China University of Science and Technology, Shanghai, who discusses the "Fundamentals of chemical engineering for fabrication of functional nanomaterials." Member of the global Powder & Bulk Network
IPB is part of the Powder & Bulk Network, a worldwide alliance of international trade shows and conferences for powder and bulk solids handling technologies that spans the globe with POWTECH in Nuremberg, Germany, Powder & Bulk Solids India, and IPB. The network provides marketing opportunities for the powder and bulk industry as well as a highly specialized platform for moving into new markets.
