IPB 2017 info Review

The 15th edition of the international Powder & Bulk Solids Processing Conference & Exhibition (IPB 2017) was held from October 16-18, 2017 at Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center (SWEECC). In this year, IPB attracted 143 exhibitors (2016: 142) from 12 countries and regions and 7,906 (2016: 7,988) visitors in three days. Fully supported by NürnbergMesse China and Chinese Society of Particuology, IPB has again secured its position as the top one trade show focus on the powder & bulk solids processing industry in China. For this year, IPB co-located with AgroChemExhibition in the same exhibition venue, which attracted quite a few new and quality visitors from Agro Chemical industry. Besides the chemical industry which visitors came from, another highlight industry in IPB2017 is new energy, the most popular fields in China nowadays. A symposium on energy particle material processing and testing technology is jointly held by Chinese Society of Particuology and cnpowder.com. More than 200 attendees from lithium battery manufacturers, new energy institution, universities joined the full day program. The speakers from Chinese Academy of Sciences, Tsinghua University, Japan Tokyo University, Hosokawa, Malvern and other companies had given the speeches.

After several years’ cooperation between NürnbergMesse and International Association of Experts for Industrial Explosion Protection, IND EX® Safety Symposium became the annual brand program during IPB. This year’s IND EX® Symposium is focusing on the current dust explosion safety situation in China in particular and seeks to provide interesting approaches and solutions in order to support China on its way to industrial explosion safety! China during the last years has made huge steps towards a safer future, by setting up new standards and also rigorously enforcing them. This symposium attracted around 50 persons from IND EX® members, experts and enginerrs focused on an active discussion and exchange of ieas on dust safety issues in China.

Powder Materials Expo (PME) within IPB debuted in this edition as a new exhibiting section which is complementary to the show. Aiming to provide a unique platform for both raw materials and machinery companies for more efficient communication and business match, PME together with the show covers the complete mechanical processing and supply chain for the industry. Both IPB and PME benefited from each other in terms of visitor due to their different attracting points.
The 3-days exhibition of IPB2017 served as a grand event for the upstream and downstream enterprises of powder industry chain to carry out trade negotiations and technical exchange. The show provided a rather effective and concentrate professional platform for information exchange between the manufacturers and distributors of various industries.
The next IPB will be held from October 16 to 18, 2018 in the same venue, Shanghai World Expo Exhibition & Convention Center.
